Fat Dissolving Injections
We Use Aqualyx® To Reduce Body Fat
Fat dissolving injections, also known as Aqualyx® injections, offer targeted treatments for smaller body areas. While many clients initially seek fat freezing for larger areas, they often later request assistance with smaller regions such as under the chin or around the knee area.

During this treatment, we inject a safe and effective solution that reduces fat cells in the treated area, permanently liquefying them. The destroyed cells then exit the body through the lymphatic system. Our fully trained and certified advanced therapists perform this procedure, emphasising that it serves as a body contouring treatment rather than a weight loss solution. Ideally, patients should be within 7 kgs of their ideal weight.

For larger areas, fat freezing is the preferred method. Under-the-chin fat reduction can be achieved with Aqualyx injections, cryolipolysis, or HIFU. For instance, if we reduce a fatty area with fat dissolving injections, we might recommend HIFU several weeks later to tighten any loose skin.

How Does Fat Dissolving Work?
Aqualyx® is utilised for the non-surgical reduction of fat pockets beneath the skin. It is an injectable, gel-based aqueous solution that dissolves fat and is both biocompatible and biodegradable.

Administered by a trained aesthetician, Aqualyx® fat dissolving injections consist of a specially formulated compound solution. This solution is injected and works by attaching to fatty deposits, gradually breaking them down. The body then naturally dissolves and flushes out the fat through the lymphatic system.

Results are effective, with most clients noticing a difference within a few weeks. The treatment is minimally invasive, and any discomfort is mitigated by the application of numbing cream. Additionally, the therapist can introduce lidocaine into the Aqualyx® solution.

This fat dissolving injection can effectively target almost all small deposits of fat, with popular treatment areas including the chin, back fat, bra fat, knees, waist, and upper arms.

Some clients prefer the injections on the upper arms instead of fat freezing due to the time difference. Fat Freezing takes around an hour while the injections (without numbing) take minutes.
Are There Side Effects Of
Fat Dissolving?
Before the treatment, it is advised not to consume alcohol for 48 hours.

After the procedure, some individuals may experience slight redness in the injected areas, and swelling is common but typically diminishes over a few days. While there might be some discomfort during the injections, our aesthetics therapist often incorporates lidocaine (an anaesthetic) into the AQUALYX® solution to minimise any discomfort for the patient.

On average, a treatment session lasts around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on factors such as whether numbing cream needs time to take effect before injecting begins and the size of the area being treated.

Some clients may experience swelling for a longer duration, and occasional minimal bruising may occur. The extent varies between patients and treatment areas, but in general, it can be expected to last about one to two days.

When will I see the results?
You'll be pleased to know that results come relatively quickly. However, for a truly noticeable impact, we usually recommend a range of two to five sessions. When it comes to specific areas, let's break it down. For those pesky fat pockets under the neck and chin, you might find that 1 to 3 treatments do the trick. On the other hand, when targeting those stubborn pockets on the hips and thighs, it's a bit of a journey – you might be looking at around 8 treatments to really see those changes take shape.
When is the treatment with AQUALYX® not recommended?
AQUALYX is not recommended when the patient is suffering from acute or chronic skin disease in the affected area. For safety reasons all patients with a medical history including anaphylactic reactions, severe allergies, severe organic or physical illnesses, autoimmune disease or diabetes, as well as women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are excluded from any treatment with AQUALYX.

When it comes to pricing, it's all about tailoring it to your specific needs. For instance, the cost factors in the area being treated and its size. Just to give you an idea, a half vial of Aqualyx is priced at £110. This covers treatments under the chin or other similar body areas. Now, the final total will naturally hinge on the sizes of the specific areas you're targeting for fat reduction. For this reason, we always advise coming in for a consultation. Are there any after-care instructions?
After your treatment we will again go through with you any after care advice in order to maximise your treatment benefits and avoid any undesirable side effects. ​ You can resume normal activities, drive yourself home or return to work immediately after the treatment.
