I Have Had My Permanent Eyeliner Done And I'm Loving It!

I've been brave and had my permanent eyeliner treatment and I so pleased.

I thought you'd like to know how it feels to have permanent make up. This is what happened.

I had a consultation with Jerusha - our permanent make up artist - and she explained the procedure, how it would feel, and what the results would be. She also advised me that the very faded tattoo eyeliner I had over 20 years ago would show through the ink colour I'd chosen for my eyeliner.

She explained that each permanent make up treatment is set into two separate sessions. The first is to map out the eye and brows and lay down the first three layers of pigment. The pigment is inserted between the lashes as well as above the lashes. Then the eyelid gets the first layers of the shape of the eyeliner eg: a smokey look or a clean linear look or a cats eyes look. I chose the smokey one.

My previous permanent make up eyeliner was years ago and I had black pigmentation but was now a silvery grey. I had chosen dark brown pigmentation this time but Jerusha explained that this old technique of permanent make up can't be erased like the newer pigments and the grey could overwhelm the brown. I agreed we should try that first and this is how they looked after (above).

My eyelids were numbed with a numbing cream. I felt nothing apart from fluttering on my eyelid.

The therapist told me before hand that she would lean firmly on my cheek and sometimes on my chest to control her movement as she worked. It wasn't uncomfortable.

There was a minute when I was wary when I felt in between the lashes was being done. It felt like my eye would open but it didn't and it didn't hurt at all.

The most discomfort when my eyes were swabbed but again nothing to stress over.

Afterwards I could see perfectly and I felt a little stinging just on the edge of my eyelids but that stopped quickly.

I'm looking forward to the second session and I have agreed I will have black pigmentation so the old ink is covered completely.

I am loving my smokey eyeliner look and everyone is asking how my eyes are so beautiful suddenly!

I can't wait to have my eyebrows now!
