Is HIFU Better Than Ultherapy For Face Lifts

Non surgical face lifts are becoming the new way to boost collagen and tighten the SMAS layer of the face and neck to give a more youthful appearance. Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston are known to use the treatment.

Newer non surgical face treatments differentiate and you've probably heard of Ultherapy and HIFU along with milder facial treatments like CACI.

Collagen stimulating treatments are achieved between 60 and 70 degrees Celsius. Both HIFU and Ultherapy treatments offer this.

Many people think HIFU is Ultherapy but there is a difference. HIFU (high intensity focused ultrasound) and Ultherapy (commonly called MFU - micro focused ultrasound) both send ultrasound 'beams' into the SMAS layer under the skin to stimulate collagen regeneration. Both of the treatments can reach to 1.5mm, 3mm and 4.5mm on the face and neck and even deeper during a body treatment eg: 8mm and 13mm.

HIFU is a more recently developed treatment and has no pain associated at all if your salon/clinic is using CoolHIFU.

Originally Ultherapy and HIFU were reported to be painful and taking quite a long time to complete a face lift. Now the HIFU technology has advanced allowing therapists to complete a full face and neck lift in just 30 minutes with NO pain for the client unlike with Ultherapy.

The surface of the HIFU machine can now be moved across the skin in one smooth continous movement ensuring that the SMAS layer under the skin receives measured shots and the cartridges used now shoot 12 lines of 12 beams so the area is covered much faster than the original single line cartridge.

It's so much more comfortable than the 2019 technology that most of our clients are surprised when the treatment is over!

Ultherapy only covers the area one line at a time so it is much slower and the technician must ensure that the lines are close together and uniform to ensure a good result.
